What is guarana extract?

Guarana (Paullinia cupana) is a plant belonging to the native species of the Amazon. It is a kind of evergreen climber reaching up to 10 meters in height. Its fruits are orange or red, bag-shaped and contain one black seed. Guarana, also called thorny-leaved, guarana or sour, is the plant with the highest caffeine synthesis capability known so far, which contains 4 times more than coffe bean seeds.
In 400 mg of guarana, the caffeine content is 88 mg. The properties of guarana consist in increasing physical and mental fitness in states of increased effort.

How does guarana work?

Guarana acts as a stimulant, removes physical and mental fatigue, increases the ability to concentrate and remember. The action of guarana can be compared to coffee in some simplification. However, since caffeine from guarana is slightly more absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, its action lasts up to 6 hours, so about 2 hours longer than coffee - however, it is milder, less intense.
